Trainee Dental Nurse - King's Placement

About the course

King's have two intakes each year which start in March and September to apply for the King's Trainee Dental Nurse placement.

This course is designed to prepare students for the NEBDN Diploma in Dental Nursing and subsequent registration with the General Dental Council (GDC). Students are provided with a King's work placement within the Dental Insititute for a minimum of 22.5 hours (3 days a week) or a maximum of 37.5 hours (5 days a week). Theoretical training to support the King's work placement learning is provided online via the Dental Team Education Centre (DTEC) virtual learning environment and consists of:

  • Exam style modular assessments

The course provides teaching in line with the NEBDN Diploma in Dental Nursing curriculum and the General Dental Councils ‘Preparing for Practice’ document.

  • Regional Anatomy
  • Oral Surgery
  • Patient Management
  • Health and Safety
  • Dental Disease etc
Entry requirements

To be accepted onto the course the course candidates must complete:

  • Successful application stage
  • Sucessful Interview stage

To be accepted onto the course the course candidates must have access to:

  • PC & Internet Connection (not compatiable with Apple devices)
  • NEBDN Record of Experience
  • NEBDN Written Examination
  • NEBDN Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)

All sucessful candidates will be expected to attend as follows: Monday - Friday, 8.30am-5pm
